Dr. Podaru grew up in Montreal where he was a competitive swimmer all through high school and later college at McGill University. It was while at McGill that he developed a passion for the sciences and found his calling in dentistry. After graduating, he pursued his dental education at the University of Montreal, graduating at the top of his class. He went on to complete a 12-month General Practice Residency at the McGill University affiliated Jewish General Hospital, where he served as chief resident and gained exposure to treating patients as part of a multi-disciplinary team of physicians and dentists and furthered his clinical training. After completing his GPR, he came to the U.S. to complete his multi-year residency in Periodontology at the University of Florida where he trained with some of the most renown periodontal surgical specialists in the country. Life eventually brought him to Colorado where he has now lived for the last year and is excited and proud to now call Colorado home!
Dr. Podaru is dual board-certified being both a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. His comprehensive training spans all areas of periodontics, implant dentistry, and oral surgery. He offers a wide range of services, including conventional periodontal therapy, periodontal plastic surgery, laser treatments, pre-prosthetic procedures, hard and soft tissue grafting, sinus augmentation, implant placement, accelerated orthodontic techniques, wisdom teeth removal, oral pathology evaluation and biopsies, as well as management of TMJ and myofascial pain. With a special focus on patient comfort, he is certified in oral, nitrous, and moderate conscious IV sedation.
Dr. Podaru’s dental philosophy is rooted in compassionate care, where every patient feels heard, respected, and supported. He believes that empowering patients through education helps them make informed decisions and take an active role in their oral health. Dr. Podaru is committed to delivering the highest quality of work, combining precision, skill, and attention to detail. With expertise and dedication, he strives to create lasting results that promote both health and confidence.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Podaru enjoys spending time with his two puppies, Lexi and Minnie. He stays active through cycling, snowboarding, and hiking. He also has a strong passion for community service—whether through local volunteering, international mission trips — striving to provide dental care to those most in need.
